Gender Reveal - party

In my time, more than 25 years ago, it was still very common that you only knew at birth whether the baby was a boy or a girl. The gender reveal came at the supreme moment. We were therefore fully prepared for the arrival of both of them. For example, we had a girl's name and a boy's name. The baby clothes are (gender) neutral. Ultrasounds did exist, but many questions were also asked whether it was good for the health of your baby. In addition, it was not part of standard obstetric care.

Times are changing. And rightly so. It is now very normal to have at least 1 or often even several ultrasound scans during your pregnancy. And we also know the sex of the baby much faster. And that gives you a great moment to reveal this in a special way and celebrate the arrival of a new wonder of the world.

Gender Reveal Party

It is therefore not surprising that a Gender Reveal party is becoming increasingly popular. This has been an increasing trend since the beginning of the 21st century. It started with a box of balloons and/or a romper in pink or blue, or a cake with a surprising filling. Of course there are always people who tackle things big, bigger and bigger. To each his own. Above all, do what makes you happy and happy.

Where there is a celebration for the arrival of a girl or a boy, there are of course always opposing voices and questions about these 'kinds' of events. Some critics claim that gender reveal parties help reinforce stereotypes and gender roles.

Gender Reveal Ideas

I would say, life is lived by celebrating. And this is such a moment par excellence. That is why I have included a rapeseed wax candle in my collection in the shape of a heart, of course with a hidden blue or pink in it. This way you can reveal the gender of your child in a silent and special way while lighting a candle.

Pregnancy is a special time. 9 months seems like a long time, but it goes by quickly and a lot happens.

So Gender Reveal: Yes, I think it is completely contemporary!
